17 including president, joint general secretary elected from Sudurpashchim



KATHMANDU: Seventeen leaders including president have been elected to the Central Working Committee (CWC) from Sudurpashchim province through the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

Sher Bahadur Deuba of Dadeldhura has been elected as the president of the Nepali Congress from the 14th General Convention.

Deuba has been re-elected as the Nepali Congress president for the second term. Badri Pandey of Bajura has won the post of joint general secretary. He was earlier a CWC member.

NP Saud and Ramesh Lekhak of Kanchanpur, Nain Singh Mahar of Dadeldhura and Dilendra Prasad Badu of Darchula have been elected as members under open category.

Similarly, Arju Rana Deuba of Dadeldhura and Ishwari Neupane of Kailali have been elected under open women category.

Dr. Ran Bahadur Rawal, Yagya Raj Joshi of Kanchanpur and Sushila Mishra Bhatt of Kailali have emerged victorious.

Nrip Bahadur Bad of Kailali and Prakash Snehi Rasaili of Bajhang have emerged victorious under Dalit open category. Ram Janam Chaudhary, Jeevan Rana of Kailali, Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh of Bajhang and Govinda Bahadur Shah of Achham under Khas Arya category have been elected as CWC members.

Out of the 17 elected, 14 have won the elections from the establishment side while the three are from the non-establishment side.

Badri Pandey, central member Dilendra Badu and Prakash Snehi Rasaili are among those elected from non-establishment side.
