NC leader Koirala denounces establishment faction’s hooliganism style

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that he will face and protest the hooliganism style of the establishment faction to capture the party.

Koirala made the remarks while expressing solidarity with the sit-in program organized at the NC Central Office in Sanepa against Province 2 Minister Birendra Prasad Singh’s thrashing of Lakhindra Mahato, ward Chairman of Sarlahi Barahathawa Municipality-4.

NC cadres gathered at the sit-in.

He accused the establishment party of engaging in hooliganism in its campaign to capture the party as the General Convention was ongoing.

Regarding Minister Singh’s attack on Ward-4 Chairman Mahato, Dr. Koirala said, “The action taken by the establishment party cannot be tolerated. We openly oppose and protest this hooliganism.”

Koirala claimed that the attack was carried out by thugs in collusion with the local administration to distract active cadres.
