NC committed to strengthen democracy, socialism: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that NC is always committed to strengthen democracy and socialism.

Inaugurating the BP Memorial Building at Kushma Bazaar of Parbat today through virtual means, NC President Deuba opined that the NC’s upcoming general convention would strengthen internal democracy and socialism.

He mentioned that the construction of party offices across the nation has been increased in recent periods and expressed the belief that it would help greatly for the institutional development of the party.

Similarly, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel urged the party cadres not to be in delusion to be the largest party due to the split in the communist party.

Poudel said, “We have to become the largest party on our own strength and not due to the split of the Communist party.”

Laying emphasis on the need of making internal democracy strong in the party, he added that the upcoming general convention of the party should elect a successful and capable leadership.

NC central committee member and building construction committee coordinator Arjun Prasad Joshi said that although the foundation stone for the building was laid in 2066 BS, it has been completed after around 12 years.

It was constructed at a cost of Rs 1,047,000. The amount was collected from different organizations, individuals, and well-wishers for the construction of the building added Joshi.
