KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) is finalizing the name of General Secretary of the party, members of the Standing Committee, Politburo and Central Committee today.
A CC meeting to be held at 11 am today will finalize the name of General Secretary of the party and fix the number of CC members, according to a Unified Socialist leader.
According to sources, Dr Beduram Busal has high chance to become the General Secretary of the party.
Aside from Bhusal, leaders Mukunda Neupane, Rajendra Pandey, Gangalal Tuladhar, Prakash Jwala, Dr Bijaya Paudel are in a fray for the post of General Secretary.
Unified Socialist has been holding a CC meeting since Tuesday to give a full shape to the party. One thirds of the CC members will be in the Politburo. Similarly, Standing Committee will one-thirds members of the Politburo.
Currently, Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, senor leader Jhala Nath Khanal, leaders Mukunda Neupane, Dr Beduram Busal and Pramesh Hamal are in the Standing Committee.
