Nepal sees 1,801 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 1,801 new cases of coronavirus while 1,924 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, 1,548 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 253 from antigen method. There had been 11,326 tests carried out in past 24 hours out of which 8,704 were RT-PCR tests and 2,622 were antigen.

Likewise, there are 441 cases in Kathmandu, 100 in Bhaktapur and 167 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the Valley to 708.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 24 infected patients died of the infection in the past 24 hours. With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 10,533 in the country.
