CM Shahi highlights needs of private sector role in Karnali’s development

KATHMANDU: Karnali Province Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has called on the private sector to invest for development and positive changes in Karnali.

In his address to a program at Kalikot today, the Chief Minister spoke the need of attracting private sector for the development of Karnali. He urged the private sector to invest for Karnali  and assured the government’s commitment to their security.

“Karnali offers numerous sectors for investment, it is a virgin land for investment,” he announced.

The homestay facility developed at the basecamp of Pachal Jharana, the highest waterfall of Nepal and the Suntharali Airport based in the Shanni Tribeni and Narharinath rural municipalities were considered as the projects of pride in the Province, he added.

According to the Chief Minister, a feasibility study of Kotbada Manma Cable Car and an atmosphere of investment from private sector would be created.

Likewise, the 410 megawatt- Phukot Karnali semi-reservoir based hydroelectric project is in the offing, he said, adding that the implementation of the project will offer job opportunities for the locals as well.
He utilised the forum to call on one and all to contribute for the sake of Karnali development from their respective capacities.
