Lumbini CM KC wins vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister Kul Prasad KC has won the vote of confidence motion tabled at Lumbini Provincial Assembly (PA) Monday.

Of the total PA members present during the motion, 42 voted in favor of CM KC and  none present in the assembly voted against him on Monday. Out of 43 lawmakers present today, one JSP lawmaker remained neutral.

Meanwhile, the Lumbini opposition UML boycotted the vote of confidence motion after disrupting the PA demanding to dismiss two lawmakers elected to the PA under UML’s election symbol, the sun.

CM KC, also the parliamentary party leader of CPN (Maoist Centre), was appointed as the chief minister of Lumbini Province after then CM Shankar Pokhrel who hailed from CPN-UML resigned on August 11.

In the 87-member Lumbini PA, which now has 80 members, the alliance led by CM KC controls 42 seats while the UML has 37.
