Saptari flood victims crying for relief



RAJBIRAJ: Thirty-five families hit by flooding at Gobargadha in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-13 in Saptari district are crying for relief for the past four days.

The village has been submerged after the flooded Saptakoshi river overflowed and entered the settlements.

Still, the village is underwater up to three feet making it difficult for the local people to live and cook food, said a flood victim Sita Ram Yadav. “What we were left with food stock has been depleted. We are wondering how to survive without food,” he lamented.

Chief District Officer Jaya Narayan Acharya said that the flood victims would get relief soon as efforts in this regard were being made in coordination with the local levels.
