KATHMANDU: Authorities in the Kathmandu Valley are mulling to extend the prohibitory order with stricter restrictions.

The district administration might extend the prohibitory order as the graph of COVID-19 cases has been increasing in the Kathmandu Valley due to uncontrolled movements and activities of the people.

According to the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Lalitpur, Dhundi Prasad Niraula, the prohibitory order might be extended considering the people’s movement and activities in the Valley.

The status of the COVID-19 pandemic will be reviewed today, according to CDO Niraula.

He also said the administrations are monitoring whether the people are adhering to the health standards.

The vehicular movement has been banned during the night starting at 8 pm in the ongoing prohibitory order. It is going to expire on Tuesday night.

Likewise, the Valley reported 566 active cases of coronavirus on Sunday.
