Government to abide by constitution: NC lawmaker Singh



KATHMANDU: Ruling party lawmaker Prakash Man Singh has committed not to breach the constitution in letter and spirit.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Singh argued the political and constitutional crisis surfaced when the erstwhile government failed to adhere to constitutional responsibility and values.

HoR member Singh reminded that the CPN (UML)-led government was toppled as the party failed to manage intra-party dispute. He added that they were compelled to move ahead following political and constitutional courses after the then government violated constitutional norms and general practices as well.

He also ironized then KP Sharma Oli led government for not materializing its agendas, including operation of railway and ships. On the other hand, leader Singh argued that his party led government has shown serious responsibility of managing anti COVID-19 vaccines on the very first day of receiving the vote of confidence.

Leader Singh, who is also former Deputy Prime Minister, suggested the government to move ahead with tangible vision and agenda. He also suggested to adopting balanced foreign policy.
