KATHMANDU: A 3.5-magnitude earthquake has occurred in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday morning.

The tremor was recorded at 7:5 am today with its epicenter at Sallaghari in Bhaktapur according to the National Seismological Center, Lainchaur.

Earlier on July 18, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck in the country with its epicenter in Dailekh.

Nepal lies on a fault line as the Indian tectonic plate is constantly pushing north into the Tibetan plate, say experts.

A mega earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale had devastated the Himalayan nation on April 25, 2015, with its epicenter at Barpak, Gorkha.
