JSP’s Thakur-Mahato faction calls executive committee meet on Thursday



KATHMANDU: Chairman Mahanta Thakur and senior leader Rajendra Mahato faction of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has called a meeting of the party’s lawmakers and executive committee meeting on Thursday.

The meeting to be held at 1 pm on Thursday will discuss the current political developments and the interim order issued by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The meeting is also scheduled to discuss the writ petition that is being debated in the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court against the dissolution of the House of Representatives and the intra-party wrangling, among other issues.

While the Thakur-Mahato faction of the party is in support of Prime Minister KP Oli, another faction led by party Chairman Upendra Yadav and Federal Council Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai have joined the opposition alliance against the government.
