KATHMANDU: Senior advocate Badri Bahadur Karki has argued that the President should have told Prime Minister KP Oli that he is no more a Prime Minister.
Taking part on the ongoing hearing on the writ petitions related to the dissolution of House of Representatives on Wednesday, senior advocate Karki accused PM Oli of obstructing the formation of the alternative government.
He argued that the Prime Minister should have vacated the post immediately after failing to garner vote of confidence in the parliament and the President should not have listened to the recommendation made by the PM who lost vote of confidence.
“The president should have said, ‘You’re no more prime minister,’ to PM Oli,” senior advocate Karki said before the Constitutional Court, adding, “But unfortunately she dissolved the parliament without trying the other alternatives.”
Senior advocates from the writ petitioners’ side are taking part on Wednesday’s debate.
