Province affairs committee demands details of DRR budget allocations



BAGMATI: The Province Affairs Committee of the Bagmati Province Assembly has demanded details of budgetary allocations the province government made for disaster risk reduction and management in the upcoming fiscal year 2021/22.

According to the province affairs committee, it has directed the provincial government to provide information as to what program along with budgetary allocations have been envisaged for the management and mitigation of disaster risks in the province within 15 days.

Expressing concern over the big loss of lives and properties in the floods and landslides-hit areas of Sindhupalchowk, Committee Chairperson Madhav Poudel shared that information related to a short-term and long-term plan, policy and budget to address natural calamities in different vulnerable areas of the province was demanded so as to increase disaster preparedness accordingly.

Demanding data of those vaccinated with first and second dose against coronavirus in the province, the Committee has said that on-site data collection to this effect will be carried out in Rasuwa, Dhading, and Nuwakot districts in the first phase.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Makawanpur has aided sets of oxygen generators and cylinders to Hetauda Hospital based in the province headquarters, Hetauda.

The RPP Makawanpur on Tuesday handed over 35 sets of oxygen cylinders and an oxygen generator to the hospital. The aided materials were procured with the financial assistance of the founder of Amar Dhan Memorial Foundation Trilok Gurung and Hon Kong-based trader Sin Hetung, RPP Makawanpur sources said.

Likewise, the Makawanpur-Korea Forum has provided health support materials worth amounting to Rs 200,000 to COVID hospital being run in Raksirang rural municipality of Makawanpur. RSS
