Supreme Court upholds EC decision declaring Matrika Yadav winner in Dhanusha-1

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court of Nepal has upheld the decision of the Election Commission of Nepal declaring Matrika Prasad Yadav of the Nepali Communist Party as the winner from Dhanusha Constituency-1.

A joint bench of justices Binod Sharma and Meghraj Pokharel on Sunday refused to issue an interim order in a writ petition filed by Kishori Sah Kamal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party against the Election Commission.

Following the court’s decision, Yadav’s victory in the constituency has been legally upheld.

The court also determined that Kishori Sah Kamal remains on the blacklist of the Credit Information Bureau of Nepal, rejecting his challenge against the Election Commission.
