NSU leader Tripathi held on charges of smearing dung on Prez and PM Oli’s pictures

KATHMANDU: A leader of the Nepal Students’ Union has been arrested on charges of protesting against the dissolution of the parliament.

Police have arrested Nawaraj Tripathi, a former central member of NSU, from Pipalpot in Mid Baneshwor.

According to the Kathmandu Police Circle, Tripathi was seen smearing dung on the pictures of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Oli.

He is currently in the custody of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Baneshwor. Meanwhile, the NSU has demanded his unconditional release.
