Absconding accused arrested for killing rhino ten years ago



CHITWAN: A person accused of killing a rhino in Chitwan National Park 10 years ago has been arrested from Tanahu.

The person, Sagar Praja alias Bindra Singh of Saipang in Kalika Municipality of Chitwan, was sentenced to life imprisonment ten years ago for killing a rhino.

According to the Park’s chief conservation officer Annath Baral, Singh was arrested on Friday from Ghansikuwa in Byas Municipality-11 of Tanahu district.

A case was registered against him on the charge of smuggling horns by shooting an adult male rhino in Dhobaha Ratnighat, the core area of ​​the park.

He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs one hundred thousand.
