Out of 139 swabs 86 test COVID positive in Birgunj



BIRGUNJ: Proving itself as one of the most coronavirus vulnerable towns bordering with India, Birgunj witnessed 86 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Saroj Roshan Das, Coordinator  of COVID-19 desk at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, out of 139 swabs tested in the hospital’s lab 86 tested coronavirus positive on Friday.

Dr. Das informed that Parsa district has the highest number of infected people. 67 people were found COVID-19 positive in Parsa Friday.

Similarly, 13 people from Bara, 4 from Rautahat, one each from Mahotari and Dhanusha were also confirmed coronavirus positive in the test.

According to Dr. Das the infection ranges from 2-year-olds to 83-year-olds and among the infected 63 are men and 23 are women.

31 coronavirus infected people are undergoing treatment at Narayani Hospital.

In the meantime, an infected person died at the hospital on Friday.
