UML Chairman Oli forms new Standing Committee sans leaders of Madhav faction



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has reformed the party’s Standing Committee (SC) excluding disgruntled Nepal-Khanal leaders in the committee.

A meeting of the 10th National General Convention Organizing Committee held at Baluwatar Friday made the decision to this effect.

According to UML sources, the newly formed SC has included former Maoist leaders, Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Lekh Raj Bhatt and Mani Thapa but has excluded the party’s disgruntled faction leaders supporting Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.

The sources said that the SC member list includes the leader KP Oli, Bamdev Gautam, Ishwor Pokhrel, Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Bishnu Poudel, Subash Chandra Nemwang, Shankar Pokhrel, and Pradeep Gyawali.

Similarly, Lekhraj Bhatta, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Mani Thapa, Satyanarayana Mandal, Bishnu Rimal, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Prithvi Subba Gurung , Raghubir Mahasheth, Keshab Badal and Pushpa Raj Kandel have also been also included in the list of SC members.

Earlier, UML senior leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Bhim Rawal, Ashta Laxmi Shakya, Yogesh Bhattarai, Surendra Pandey, Bhim Acharya, Yuvraj Gyawali, Gokarna Bista, and Mukunda Neupane were also the members of the Standing Committee.
