One killed as firing goes in Taplejung



TAPLEJUNG: A man has died after being shot at by a neighbor at Meringden rural municipality-2, Santhakra in Taplejung district.

According to District Police Office (DPO), Taplejung, Akash Limbu shot his neighbor Khadka Limbu dead on the premises of the latter’s house at Didima village in Santhakra on Thursday evening.

Deceased Khadka, 50, was a staffer at local Jalapa Devi Lower Secondary School.

Police have taken the assailant Akash, 30, under control along with the home-made gun he used for killing Khadka.

The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.

Police said they are investigating the case after the assailant into custody.
