Home Minister Thapa meets Australian Ambassador Felicity Volk



KATHMANDU: Ministry of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has met Australian Ambassador to Nepal Miss Felicity Volk at the Home Ministry in Singha Durbar Tuesday.

The two held discussion on bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.

On the occasion, Home Minister Thapa congratulated Ms Volk for assuming office and wished for successful completion of her tenure. He expressed confidence that Nepal-Australia relation would reach new heights during Volk’s tenure.

Recalling that Nepal and Australia marked 60th year of establishing diplomatic ties last year, Thapa thanked the Government of Australia through Ambassador Volk for continued Australian support to various sectors and projects in Nepal.

Ambassador Volk extended Australian government’s full support to realize the Nepal government’s campaign ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ during the meeting. She also conveyed to Home Minister Thapa that she had visited Nepal four times before she was appointed the ambassador, and was proud to serve in Nepal.
