Man nabbed for duping youths sent to judicial custody



POKHARA: District Court, Kaski has remanded a man arrested on the charge of duping youths on the pretext of sending them to Canada, to judicial custody.

Dhiraj Kumar Bishwakarma, 38, was arrested on charges of extorting more than Rs 10 million from 33 youths saying he would send them to Canada.

A case was filed at the court following an investigation by the District Police Office, Kaski.

A bench of District Judge Shrikrishna Bhattarai ordered to send Bishwakarma to custody.

The court has sought bail of Rs 1.8 million from Bishwakarma’s accomplice Bhoj Bahadur Karki alias Deepak. He has also been jailed for failing to pay the bail bond.
