Number of visitors to ex-King Birendra’s residence at Narayanhiti Museum goes up



KATHMANDU: Shreesadan, the residence of former King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya, of Narayanhiti Palace Museum, has seen growth in visitors’ number in recent weeks.

Inaugurated on November 21 last year, the Shreesadan was opened to the general public from November 22. Shreesadan includes the rooms of the former royal couple and the other royal family members.

Information Officer of Narayanhiti Palace Museum Development Committee and Republic Memorial Management Committee Buddhi Bahadur Gurung said that the section of the museum has seen crowds of visitors.

In the past three months, almost 40,000 visitors have entered the Shreesadan since its opening.

Build-in 2023 BS, the Shreesadan was used by the former king Birendra as his private residence.
