Maoist Center to go for polls for leadership in Province 1



KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) is making preparations to hold elections to elect a new leadership in Province 1.

A task-force had been formed to hold elections after the province convention could not elect the leadership through consensus.

Aspirant candidates have already started election campaigns through social media after the province convention headed for elections.

Seven candidates are in the fray for the post of the chairman of the province committee. Shiva Kumar Dangi of Sunsari, Harka Bahadur Nembang (Mikso) of Panchthar, Muksahang Menyangbo (Mukesh) of Sunsari, Mohan Bahadur Khatri of Udayapur, Mani Kumar Sampang of Jhapa and Hem Karki (Bishal) of Biratnagar.

Similarly, over a dozen leaders are vying for three posts of vice chairpersons while over six candidates are contesting the election for a post of secretary.
