Nepal Bar urges UML to act to end crisis in judiciary

Nembang says he will raise the issue at UML's SC meet

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Association, which is agitating seeking the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, has said that the political parties should think fast to resolve the crisis in the judiciary.

Handing over a memorandum to the main opposition party CPN-UML on Monday, NBA Chairman Chandeshwor Shrestha urged the party to play role to resolve the crisis in judiciary at the earliest.

“We want this crisis to be resolved soon,” he said.

Receiving the memorandum, UML parliamentary party deputy leader and standing committee member Subash Nembang said that the memorandum would be presented at the party’s standing committee meeting. He said that it would be better if the legal practitioners had not been agitating; however, as the agitation started, it has to reach to a logical conclusion.

Nembang promised to raise the issue to party Chairman KP Oli and the SC meeting.
