DHANGADHI: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has reiterated his stance that Nepal should endorse the widely-debated Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
PM Deuba, who visited the far west to observe the damage caused by floods and landslides due to incessant rains, said that the MCC was subject to Nepal’s law.
“The MCC will be endorsed. And I don’t see anything that needs amendment. Fake news and disinformation about MCC have been widespread,” he said adding that the MCC was nothing more than a grant.
Prime Minister Deuba came down heavily on what he said: “some elements” for trying to create a fuss of the issue.
Meanwhile, PM Deuba also vowed to bring short-term and long-term relief and reconstruction plans as the floods and landslides have caused severe damage in the eastern and western regions.
Asked whether the general convention of Nepali Congress would be held on the stipulated time, he skipped the question saying that the part has given the responsibility to the election for holding the convention on time.
