Nepal sees 1,920 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 1,920 new cases of coronavirus while 2,248 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, 1,702 were detected through RT-PCR method and 218 from antigen-method.

There had been 12,516 tests carried out in past 24 hours out of which 9,443 were RT-PCR tests and 3,073 were antigen.

Likewise, there are 395 cases in Kathmandu, 61 in Bhaktapur and 110 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the Valley to 566.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 24 infected patients died of the infection in the past 24 hours. With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 10,509 in the country.
