Two more die of COVID-19 at Bheri Zonal Hospital

COVID-19 cases spike in Karnali Province



NEPALGUNJ: Two more people have died of COVID-19 in the course of treatment at Bheri zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke.

The deceased have been identified as 71-year-old man of Surkhet and 55-year-old man of Dang. The septuagenarian man of Surkhet breathed his last on Saturday night while 55-year-old of Dang succumbed to the virus at 5 am today, said Bheri Zonal Hospital.

Out of 5,768 people who underwent anti-gen tests between mid-July to mid-August, 1,168 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the Karnali Province.

Similarly, out of 2,860 people who underwent PCR tests in the past one week, the reports of 1,285 people came out to be positive, according to Province Health Directorate.

A total of 17 people have died from COVID-19 since mid-July. Similarly, the number of active cases in the Karnali Province has reached 890 until Saturday. As many of 2,471 people have been infected with the COVID-19 during since mid-July.
