Entrepreneur Agrawal elected CNI’s new president



KATHMANDU: Entrepreneur Bishnu Kumar Agrawal has been elected as the new president of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).

Agrawal was elected the president from CNI’s 18th annual general assembly held Thursday in Kathmandu. Earlier, as CNI’s senior vice president, he led CNI’s Young Entrepreneur Forum and also served as the president of Infrastructure Development Committee.

A former football player, Agrawal embraced his passion for the game by promoting Nepal Super League winner Kathmandu Razors Football Club.

The general assembly also saw election of 37 members to the National Council, a high level policy body, and seven vice presidents.

Representing the founding faction Amit Mor, Ratan Lal Kedia, Rahul Kumar Agrawal, Sandeep Kumar Sharda, Barun Kumar Todi, Shulabh Agrawal, Amit Begani, Bikas Dugad, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Chandra Tandon, Anuj Agrawal, Arpit Agrawal, Deepak Agrawal, Suraj Bhakta Poudel, Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Bikram Singhania, Dilip Agrawal, Sharad Kumar Tibdewala, Rohit Gupta and Aditya Sanghai have been elected to the National Council.

Similarly, representing establishment faction Hemraj Dhakal, Nicholas Pandey, Birendra Raj Pandey, Barsha Shrestha, Laxmi Prasad Subedi, Guru Prasad Neupane, Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Raj Bahadur Shah, Pampha Dhamala, Ashish Garg, Dwiraj Sharma (Siwakoti), Ashok Sherchan, Tara Prasad Poudel and Hitesh Golchha have been elected to the policy body of CNI.

Likewise, Gokul Bhandari, Krishna Prasad Adhikari and Basanta Bahadur Chand have been elected unopposed as members of the National Council.
