One million doses of Vero Cell arrive in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: One million doses of Vero Cell vaccine have arrived in Kathmandu Thursday.

A wide body aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) that left Beijing, China, with the vaccines landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:15 pm today.

Similarly, another NAC aircraft is set to fly to Beijing Thursday itself to bring in another 1 million doses of the vaccine. NAC Managing Director Dim Prakash Poudel said the aircraft would take off for Beijing at 11 pm tonight. The shipment is likely to arrive on Saturday.

Nepal purchased 4 million doses of Vero Cell vaccine from Chinese vaccine-manufacturer Sinopharm.
