CPN-UML holding Central Committee meeting today

To discuss party consolidation, future action plan



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML is holding a Central Committee (CC) meeting on Thursday.

The 10th CC meeting of the CPN-UML, which started three days ago at the Tulsilal Memorial Foundation in Chysal, Lalitpur, will discuss the achievements of the outgoing government led by Chairman KP Sharma Oli, party’s upcoming action plan, party consolidation and purification and the Supreme Court’s July 12 verdict.

Speaking in the CC meeting yesterday, Chairman Oli called on the disgruntled faction to come into terms with party unification. The meeting has already endorsed the 10-point agreement sealed by the taskforce committee.

The first meeting had decided to seek a 24-hour clarification against those lawmakers who gave the vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The clarification letter has not yet been sent to the UML leaders who crossed the floor to vote for Deub.

The action will be taken against them only after receiving the response of clarification letters from the Nepal-Khanal faction, according to a UML leader.
