Karnali Province records 300 COVID-19 fatalities till date



KARNALI: A total of 300 people have succumbed to Coronavirus infection in the Karnali Province as of now.

According to the Public Health Directorate, Karnali Province, the province recorded 40 deaths from COVID-19 in the first wave while the rest others were reported in the second wave.

The active cases of COVID-19 currently stand at 1,582 while the COVID-19 caseload in the province reaches 27,421. A total of 24,343 COVID-19 patients have enjoyed full recovery to date.

Directorate Director Dr Rabin Khadka shared that the fatality rate from COVID-19 has slowed down from 98 percent and come down to 20 percent lately.

Dr Khadka cautioned that although the infection and fatality rate have gone down, it is imperative Karnali Province folks take precautions against the flu-like deadly infection.

The provincial government has been enforcing prohibitory orders since April 27 this year to stem the spread of the second wave of COVID-19 deemed to be more contagious and dangerous.
