Rastriya Janamorcha suspends Gandaki lawmaker Thapa

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha central member and Gandaki Province lawmaker Krishna Thapa has been suspended from the party.

According to party General Secretary Manoj Bhatta, Thapa has been suspended for supporting Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung by going against the whip issued by the party. The party had issued whip calling on its lawmakers to vote for Nepali Congress (NC) leader Krishna Chandra Pokharel.

The opposition had not been able to form a new government after Thapa’s refusal to support the party decision.

Earlier, the party relieved him from the post of parliamentary party leader in the province.
