Maoist Center dubs President’s move “mid-night robbery”

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) has said that President Bidya Devi Bhandari has again taken an unconstitutional move by rejecting the claims made by both UMl Chairman KP Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba for the post of prime minister.

Party leader Barshaman Pun dubbed the decision a “midnight robbery”.

“A robbery took place at midnight,” Pun wrote on Twitter, adding, “Gyanendra Shah also used to choose Fridays and midnights.”

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has invalidated the claim made by KP Oli and Sher Bahadur Deuba as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Cabinet has been held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar after the President’s decision.
