Further action to be based on received clarification: UML Chief Whip Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai has said further action against 32 leaders of the rival faction of the party would be determined after going through their clarifications.

The party sought clarification from 27 federal lawmakers and 5 provincial lawmakers on Monday for carrying out parallel activities, eroding party leadership through remarks on media and for violating directive of whip in Karnali Province.

UML Chief Whip Bhattarai informed that lawmakers had started submitting their explanation. Some leaders submitted the clarification by reaching the parliamentary party (PP) office while some others sent the clarification via email.

He further stated the party would decide further action after scrutinizing the explanations.

UML Chair and Prime Minister KP Oli on several occasions indicated action would be taken if presented clarifications are deemed unsatisfactory.
