KATHMANDU: Banke police has arrested four people with a banned spotted tiger skin.

Police have arrested four persons while they were trading tiger skins and bones on the Surkhet-Kohalpur road in Baijnath Rural Municipality-1.

Among the arrested are Gang Bahadur Khatri, 50, and Prakash Khatri, 20, of Birendranagar Municipality-11, Surkhet,  Chandra Adhikari, 39, of Bhagwatimai Municipality-4, Dailekh, and Jayalal Nepali, 38, of Tila Municipality-4, Jumla.

Police said that they were arrested while walking from Chisapani to Kohalpur. A tiger skin was found in the bag and a tiger-like bone was found in a plastic bag, police said.

The arrested have been sent to the Banke National Park office for further investigation and necessary action.
