KATHMANDU: The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu has organized the 3rd annual US-Nepal International Moot Court Competition Monday.
U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Rand Berry and Supreme Court of Nepal Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal jointly inaugurated the four-day virtual competition.
American and Nepali law students are set to argue on complex legal issues in the contest.
Students from five law schools of Nepal and one from the United States are participating.
The law schools representing Nepal are Nepal Law Campus, Kathmandu School of Law, Kathmandu University School of Law, Chakrabarti Habi Education Academy’s College of Law and Bright Vision Law College.
Likewise, Howard University School of Law is representing the US.
This year, the virtual platform has allowed judges to join from across the world, evaluate aspiring international attorneys, and pose tough questions to refine participants’ legal skills.
The US mission has thanked everyone involved in making the event a success, including the judges and evaluators.
Nepal Law Campus was awarded the best team followed by Howard University School of Law in the First US-Nepal International Moot Court Competition held in 2018.
