Speaker Sapkota seeks appointment with PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Prasad Sapkota has sought a meeting with Prime Minister KP Oli to discuss measures for effective operation of the parliament.

At an informal meet with journalists Monday, Speaker Sapkota said, “I have sought an appointment with the PM,” adding that he was hopeful of getting the PM’s time.

The relation between the Speaker and the PM soured after the former objected to the latter’s move of appointing office-bearers to various constitutional bodies earlier.

Parliamentary parties have been putting the blame on the government for not providing business to the HoR.
