Four including Indian nat’l held for ‘kidnapping elderly couple’



JALESHWOR: Mahottari Police has arrested four individuals for their alleged involvement in the abduction of an elderly couple of Pipara of Mahottari district.

The accused have been rounded up one month after 65-year-old Musafir Jha and his 58-year-old wife Gita Devi Jha, the residents of Pipara rural municipality-5, went missing.

Acting on a First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the kin, police arrested three neighbors of the missing couple along with an Indian national. According to SP Dinesh Acharya of District Police Office, Mahottari, the real estate agents had abducted while the victims were sleeping in their house at night on February 22.

The arrested are locals Ram Babu Yadav, his eldest and youngest sons Surendra and Rajendra, and Harendra Thakur of Madhuwani, India, said police.

DPO, Mahottari said it is investigating the case after filing a case against the accused on the charge of hostage-taking and kidnapping.
