NC holding office-bearers’ meeting today



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of NC office-bearers on Monday.

The meeting to be held at the central party office in Sanepa at 2 pm will dwell on the latest political development including power-sharing and the party’s 14th General Convention slated for August 23, said central party office’s Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel. The former NC officer-bearers will also take part in the meeting.

Earlier, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel had held discussions with the leaders of his faction  as part of preparations to attend the NC office bearers’ meeting on Sunday afternoon,

Held at Poudel’s residence in Bohorataar, Kathmandu, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav, central committee members Ram Sharan Mahat and Minendra Rijal among others were present in the meeting.

One of the leaders privy to the meeting said that they will draw the attention of NC President Deuba to issues such as lack of adequate preparation for holding the general convention on August 23 later this year and his reluctance to strategize for toppling the government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
