Disregarding SC order, police arrest Bastola after release

KATHMANDU: Senior Leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Biplav outfit, Dharmendra Bastola has been re-arrested immediately after his release on Monday.

Earlier, a hearing on the habeas corpus writ related with Bastola, a Joint Bench comprising of justices Meera Khadka and Sushma Lata Mathema had ordered the release of Bastola hailing his detention illegal and inappropriate from the judicial point of view.

In its order to release Bastola, the Bench had warned to sue police provided he is re-arrested in the same case.

The police re-arrested Bastola from the Supreme Court gate.
