KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Chairman of Federal Council of Janata Samajwadi Party Baburam Bhattarai held a secret meeting on Friday.
The leaders held a meeting in presence of Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun following a conclusion of a protest assembly organized by the faction in Kathmandu.
Sources said that Prachanda and Baburam had a discussion at the Vice President’s residence for about an hour.
The discussion between the former Maoists leaders is considered important at a time when the ruling party has split unofficially.
Press Coordinator to Prachanda Bishnu Prasad Sapkota ‘Jugal’ claimed that the meeting had not taken place.
However, sources close to the Vice President’s Office have confirmed that they had met.
