Deuba in favor of supporting NCP Oli faction in Province 1 and Bagmati

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has stood in favor of support with the KP Oli group of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Province 1 and Bagmati.

He stressed cooperation with the Oli group during a meeting with central members and influential leaders of Bagmati Province at his residence in Budhanilkantha on Friday.

Deuba said that the party should lay claim to the post of Chief Minister of Bagmati province government.

Leaders participating in the discussion have said that Deuba intends to make his close leader Indra Baniya the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province by supporting the Oli group in Province 1.

But, the group led by senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel was dissatisfied with Deuba’s proposal.

According to sources, the meeting failed to reach a conclusion and it was agreed to call the leader of the province parliamentary party to Kathmandu to discuss and take a decision.

During the discussion, senior leader Poudel and leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that they should not cooperate with the Oli group.
