Protest to continue until HoR reinstated: Khanal

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Jhalanath Khanal has said that people have taken to the streets to correct the regressive move by Prime Minister KP Oli.

Addressing a program organized by his faction in Kathmandu on Friday, Khanal said that the Nepali people were compelled to take to the streets to defend and implement the democratic republic and the constitution drafted by the Constituent Assembly.

“The party that has come to implement the people’s cause by going through many twists and turns of revolution and counter-revolution can never accept a regressive step,” Khanal said.

He said that the seven-decade-long communist movement would never falter, adding that KP Oli was a fugitive of the communist party.

He said that the Prime Minister should always abide by the constitution.‘

Khanal further said that the protest will continue until the decision to dissolve the House of Representatives is annulled.
