RUPANDEHI: A 55-year-old woman has been murdered in Rupandehi.
The deceased has been identified as Kalawati Dhobi of Gaidhawa Village Municipality-2.
She was murdered on Wednesday evening, police said.
According to the Area Police Office, Lumbini, the body was found in a mustard field of Nanuli village at around 8 pm.
The deceased has sustained head injuries. According to Police Inspector Rabindra Mahat, she had left her house at around 5 pm.
Mahat said an investigation was underway.
She is survived by her husband and four sons. Her sons had gone out to search her mother when she did not return until late evening.
“Police reached the scene after the woman’s sons reported that a body had been found in the nearby field,” Mahat said.
The body has been taken to Bhim Hospital for postmortem.
