MCC to be discussed in Business Advisory Committee prior to House meeting

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee to discuss the issue of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) today.

The meeting of the Business Advisory Committee will be held before the meeting of the House of Representatives today.

The meeting of the House of Representatives is being held at 1 pm today.

The agenda of the meeting has not been decided yet. But the US aid project MCC could be discussed, sources have said.

Last week, the US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) urged Nepal to expedite the passage of the proposed MCC agreement.

A meeting of the MCC Board of Directors held in Washington DC on Tuesday reiterated the request for speedy approval of the MCC-Nepal Compact.

The MCC agreement has to be passed by the parliament.

There has been continuous protest in Nepal against MCC.
