UML leader Baskota accuses Prachanda of messing up MCC Compact

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota has accused Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of creating a mess out of the United States grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Speaking at a program organized by Press Chautari Kaski in Pokhara Tuesday, former Minister Baskota said that Prachanda had created a mess by signing the agreement at first and advocating against its passage afterwards.

“Who signed the MCC agreement? Sher Bahadur Deuba and Prachanda. Who created a mess out of it? That is only Prachanda,” he said. “Prachanda says one thing when he is with KP Oli and another thing when he is with someone else. He doesn’t stick to his words. He is turning the pact signed with foreign nations into a joke?”

He alleged that the MCC agreement could not be tabled in the parliament due to Prachanda.
