Leader Singh stresses on selection of able leaders from ward to center

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said the coming 14th general convention of the party needs to elect able leaders from ward to center.

At a daylong seminar organized by Chandragiri municipal committee of the party here Saturday, leader Singh stressed that able leadership makes the party organization strong. “Recommendation for active membership to the new entrants to the party from different parties without institutionalization has created problem,” he said, expressing worry why the row over distribution of active membership was still unsolved.

The former general secretary argued that the party was facing difficulty because it deviated from norms and rule. He however demanded the distribution of party membership to those who have met criteria in line with rule and norms.

“If the party is not handled in an institutional manner in the coming 14th general convention, the NC would change into ‘Praja Parisad’,” he claimed. In the program, NC district president in Kathmandu, Sabuj Baniya, also stressed the need of strengthening party organization from ward to center.
