UML Chairman Oli says he is ready to make Madhav Nepal second Chairman

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has said that he has no problem making senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal the second Chairman of the party.

He, however, said senior Nepal did not agree to his proposal, which indicates that he is not in favor of party unity.

Addressing a meeting of the party’s central committee Wednesday, Oli said he was as flexible as possible for the sake of party unity.

“Efforts are being made for unity till the end,” he said, adding, “I am committed to implementing the 10-point agreement.”

According to him, senior leader Nepal had demanded that he be made the second Chairman for the sake of party unity.

“I have clearly told him that I am ready to give the post of a second Chairman if he is really sincere towards keeping the party unity intact,” Oli said.
