UML Senior leader Nepal reaches Tokha to woo Rawal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has reached Tokha, to meet Dr. Bhim Rawal, a disgruntled leader of his faction.

According to sources, UML leader Nepal reached at Rawal’s residence, on Wednesday afternoon, to woo the leader disappointed at his decision to give vote of confidence to Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Formerly known as the ‘right hand’ of leader Nepal, Dr. Rawal disagreed with the Khanal-Nepal faction’s decision to give vote of confidence to Prime Minister Deuba and had resigned from the post of member of parliament few hours before the voting began.

Dr. Rawal’s resignation has not been approved by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota yet.

As they had become an integral part of the opposition alliance formed to counter arbitrary rule of then Prime Minister KP Oli, the Khanal-Nepal faction could not abide by the UML’s whip to oppose Prime Minister Deuba.

On the other hand, one of the key leaders of the task force formed to retain party unity, Rawal could not defy the party establishment’s decision not to give vote of confidence after Chairman Oli faction agreed to implement 10 point agreement prepared by the taskforce.
